Glasgow’s Iconic Landmark in Vivid Color
While Edinburgh boasts its Castle, Glasgow has the Finnieston Crane—a striking symbol of the city's proud industrial past. This colorful piece captures the crane in my signature vibrant style, breathing life into its historic structure against the cityscape.
The Finnieston Crane, also known as the Stobcross Crane, is a monumental cantilever crane that stands as a tribute to Glasgow's engineering legacy. Once instrumental in loading cargo, especially steam locomotives bound for export, this crane is one of only eleven of its kind left worldwide.
Although no longer operational, it remains a cherished landmark on the River Clyde, a constant presence in the background of BBC Pacific Quay broadcasts and a vivid reminder of Glasgow’s heritage.
